Microwave leakage emission testing is a process that checks the amount of microwave radiation that might be escaping from your microwave. This is crucial because overexposure to microwave radiation can lead to health issues, including burns and a weakened immune system. The test is conducted using a handheld electronic detector. This device is moved around the oven, especially around the door seal, to ensure that any radiation being emitted is within the acceptable limit of 5mW/cm2.

Most PAT testing is carried out every 12 months and this is an industry recommendation.
However the exception to this is construction tools, which should be carried out every 3 months due to the excessive usage, and a much higher risk to health & safety than an item that is stationary, out of the way and untouched. Additionally, it's recommended to check with your insurance policies as they may have specific requirements for your business to stay covered.
This subject can fall within a grey area, at Fox Pat Testing we do our very best to be extremely thorough and test every single item that can be seen and found. However, to make sure you're fully covered in your PAT testing is imperative that anything hidden AND under lock and key is accessible to us during the duration of time we spend carrying out the PAT Testing as this is your responsibility. Remember, we aim to test every single appliance within your establishment and any items missed could potentially pose a risk.
Please note: Any returns to site due to missed items will be charged additionally at our normal Pat testing rates.
